HOW THIS WORKS
Checks Twitter’s servers directly to see if the tweet is currently accessible.
Queries the Internet Archive for any saved snapshots of the tweet before deletion.
Provides Google Cache and Google Search links as additional archive sources.
How the Tweet Deleted Checker Works
This tool uses three independent methods running on our own server — no unreliable third-party proxies. First, it checks Twitter’s syndication API directly to confirm whether the tweet is currently accessible. Second, it queries the Wayback Machine’s CDX API to find any archived snapshots taken before the tweet was deleted. Third, it provides direct links to Google Cache and Google Search as additional fallback sources. Together these three methods give you the most complete picture of any tweet’s current and historical status.
Why Tweets Get Deleted
Tweets get deleted for many reasons. The most common is the original author choosing to remove it — because it contained an error, attracted unwanted attention, or no longer reflects their views. Additionally, Twitter removes tweets that violate its policies including spam, harassment, and misinformation. Account suspensions make all tweets from that account inaccessible. Finally, accounts switching from public to private make their tweets inaccessible to non-followers.
When the Wayback Machine Has a Copy
The Internet Archive crawls and saves billions of web pages continuously. However, not every tweet gets archived. Tweets more likely to have been captured include those from high-profile accounts with large followings, tweets that generated significant engagement, and tweets that were linked to from other websites or news articles. Very recently deleted tweets are unlikely to have been archived yet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I find any deleted tweet with this tool?
Not every deleted tweet has been archived. Tweets from high-profile accounts and heavily engaged tweets are more likely to have been captured by the Wayback Machine before deletion.
How quickly does the Wayback Machine archive tweets?
The Wayback Machine crawls continuously but does not capture every tweet in real time. Popular and widely linked tweets are archived faster than obscure ones.
Can I check if someone deleted a tweet about me?
Yes. Paste the tweet URL into the checker. If the tweet existed and was archived before deletion, this tool will find the cached version in the Wayback Machine.
Is this tool free?
Yes. Completely free with no account or sign-up required.
